February 15th 2008 - The Hurlers and the rest of the league conducted the 2009 CLB Draft.  The Hurlers selected Barry Bonds with the first overall pick.

December 1st 2008 - The Hurlers announce their 8 protected: Cy Young, Hippo Vaughn, Don Newcombe, Goose Goslin, Yogi Berra, Mel Ott, Mark McGwire and Joe Cronin.

Classic League Baseball Spring Training starts for the Limerick Hurlers Baseball Club on March 1st against the Lake Erie Mohawks.  The 24-game Spring Training will be concluded with a Spring Tournament which begins on March 27th.  After a short break allowing teams to return to their regular homes, the regular season begins on April 13th.  The Hurlers begin the 2009 campaign on the road against the Athens Bobkittens.  The Hurlers first home game of the season is on April 16th against the Kelso Highlanders, even though there can not be more than one Highlander.
